A local business owner was mauled by an off-leash dog earlier this week and when police attempted to stop the dog’s guardian, they said he took fentanyl and overdosed.
“All I saw was his face and his teeth,” Cheryl Wakerhauser, 47, said of the pit bull who attacked her while she jogged by a vacant property Monday morning on Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard.
