BY TUESDAY at 8 p.m., when the polls close in Lowell, the 2023 election for the City Council and School Committee races will be over, and a new era of governing in the city will begin in January 2024.
LOWELL School Committee member Susie Chhoun is looking to make the jump to the City Council to advocate for the city’s schools from a different angle as she seeks the District 5 seat in the Nov. 7 city election.
Incumbent District 5 City Councilor Kimberly Scott is seeking re-election in the hopes of helping the city prioritize larger scale housing projects and fully funding city infrastructure like roads and sidewalks.
