Today, I m going to talk about the experiences of several local residents who got to view the total eclipse and see the big aurora display from South Jersey. I m going to relate how the rest of us can see the next total solar eclipse sooner than you might think and the next auroral superstorm. In addition, I ll mention the upcoming big planetary pairing and simultaneous big meteor shower, the "Blaze Star" explosion, and what just might turn out to be the best comet for the U.S. in two or more decades — all sights available this summer through early fall. ....
This is my last major chance in this column to urge you readers to try to get to the "zone of totality" where the truly wondrous sights will be when the total eclipse occurs on the afternoon of April 8. ....
