Three Porter police officers were approaching with emergency lights in the southbound lanes and while two avoided the northbound vehicle, the third collided head-on, he said.
Chesterton Town Council enacts downtown snow parking ban

At its meeting Monday night, the Chesterton Town Council voted unanimously to enact the annual snow parking ban in the Downtown.
The snow ban took effect at 2:01 a.m. today, as requested by Street Commissioner John Schnadenberg.
The ban prohibits parking on select streets between 12 and 8 a.m. during or after snows of two inches or more: South Calumet Road from Porter Ave. to the Norfolk Southern grade-crossing. Broadway from South Calumet Road to Sixth Street. Second and Third streets from Broadway to West Indiana Ave.
