Around Anastasia Island: Canadian snowbirds staying north of the border

Winter on Anastasia Island is missing a key element this year “snowbirds” from Canada. While many visitors from our northern states have been able to and have chosen to return to our area for the winter months it’s hard to find any Canadians. That’s not by choice, as explained Kitty Braid, who, with her husband Bob, have been winter “snowbirds” in St. Augustine Beach for more than 40 years.
“As we sit here, in lockdown, we think of beautiful St. Augustine and our friends who are lucky to be there,” Kitty emailed early last week from their home in Ajax, Ontario, Canada. ....
