Mutamba expressed his happiness over his return and stated his ambition to help the club going forward. “It feels great to be here once more. I am glad the coach has shown confidence in me and I am looking forward to rewarding his trust in me by performing.” Mutamba saw his expected move to Libyan side Asswehly SC fall through when talks with Bidco United did not succeed towards the end of January. The lanky striker had been signed by the Thika club at the beginning of the 2020/21 season as a free agent after being dropped by Wazito FC alongside 12 other players. 

Kibwage and Kilume appointed captains as reshuffle at Sofapaka continues

Kibwage is the new captain and he will be assisted by Kilume. “It’s a good feeling to be given such a position at the club, it shows that the team management has trust in me, Kibwage, who also served as KCB captain, said after the confirmation of his new position. “I look forward to reciprocating the same trust back to the team in terms of performance both as an individual and as a team. Obayi is taking over the mantle from John Mururi, who parted ways with the 2009 Premier League champions in the recent past. The new assistant coach, who will be working under Ken Odhiambo, was serving Batoto ba Mungu as the captain before his new appointment. Sofapaka Football Club can confirm Willis Obayi new assistant club head coach, the club announced. Obayi who has been serving as the club captain has been elevated to coaching capacity and will assist head coach Ken Odhiambo.
