Kota Kinabalu: The Co-operative Societies Commission of Malaysia (SKM) provides special allocations for cooperatives in Sabah and Sarawak to venture into the retail business.
JOHOR BARU: Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) affected by floods during the current monsoon season are allowed to reschedule or defer payments for up to three months, says Datuk Ewon Benedick.
Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Ewon Benedick said there are now 14,975 cooperatives in the country, generating a total income of RM22.4 billion. He said with a membership of over seven million, the contribution of the cooperative movement through the collection of share capital and fees was as much as RM16.5 billion, while asset generation amounted to RM156.2 billion.
