story. i had seen posts seeking volunteers for this group on telegram and you mentioned this is a ghost story. the people behind it were ghosts. it took me months to track them down. they have no online presence on any social media programs and can t find them on linkedin and took me forever to find the name of the people. i was able to track them down finally and get a recording of one of their training sessions and materials but they re doing everything they can to remain hidden. and so it was very hard to get ahold of them or at least to find out who they were. i was not able to get ahold of them. they didn t return my calls. as i was getting ready to report the story out, i met with the lieutenant governor in charge of elections in the state and she said we re starting to get complaints from some parts of the state there are people going around knocking on doors and they appear to have the personal voter information of everyone,
censors us. neither of the views are meeting in the middle because one side is not talking about the truth and the other side is essentially trying to take down republican talking points, which are fear-based conspiracy theory based and tied into things like qanon. while all of our attention on facebook is deserved, we re at a different point. when stop the steal groups started being closed down, the ones that i was joining as a researcher, everyone within the groups, the moderators, the admins of those groups were encouraging people to join other alternative social media programs. i want to pull on that thread, christopher. i only have another minute left with you. we have state and local elections not months away, days away. you spend time on these forums. how are they shifting their strategy if at all? sure. so, i mean, these extremists aren t wasting time with facebook anymore.
