And Demolition Man . Our reporters are following the latest developments. Lets begin with nbcs katie phang who has more. What happened and where does it all go from here . Reporter yeah, so now that the dust has settled a bit and weve had a chance to look at the order that judge mcafee ordered this morning, i want to start by saying to viewers this is not a ruling on the disqualification of Fulton County District Attorney fani willis. What it is is something that happens in common course in any type of case, civil or criminal. In this particular instance, when the District Attorney gets an indictment, the defense can seek to dismiss certain counts on legal grounds. What judge mcafee has done in Fulton County has said that because the state says in its indictment that certain of the defendants including donald trump relied upon violations of the United States constitution and the georgia constitution, because theres so many different clauses and so many different amendments that are contained within both of those constitutions, the defense in fairness needs to have with specificity from the state which of these specific kind of clauses are alleged of to been violated. Thats it, chris. The entirety of the indictment otherwise remains intact. The rico count which everybody is looking at as being the meat on the bone, its still there. Donald trump was originally looking at more than ten charges, and with the reduction of three of them, he still has ten left. And judge mcafee made sure it was clear, chris, that should fani willis seek reindictment on those charges, she could go to a grand jury and get it cleaned up. So really the way to look at it to make all things kind of a long story short, this is an attempt to clean up the indictment that according to judge mcafee needed to be done so that the defendants at issue in fairness and through the concepts of justice could very much understand what they have to prepare a defense for. Katie phang, always good to see you. Thank you. A january 6th defendant accused of firing a gun during an attack appeared in court today. I want to bring in nbcs ryan riley. So fired a gun, right, january 6th. What more can you tell us about this suspect . Reporter yeah, its a wild story because this footage really only emerged last month. Actually this individual, john bandelos, had been identified by nbc two years ago as a man who was armed with a gun at the capitol and had it on him, and he wasnt arrested until the image that youre seeing on the screen there, footage was released last month, at which point some of the online sleuths were able to find other footage that showed the same incident. After he was initially he was initially identified to the fbi in more than three years ago in 2021, but then the fbi actually went to him in 2022 after nbcs reporting. And then asked whether he went inside the watch will t capitol, he hung up on agents, then called back making outthere claims. Hes harassed a number of the Sedition Hunters who identified him. This is an individual whos out there and really kind of off the rocker in terms of his beliefs and thinking that the election was stolen and also that sort of a lot of other Conspiracy Theories that go along with it. Ultimately today he was ordered detained until trial. So now hes in that narrow category of january 6th defendants who have actually been ordered detained before their trial. Its probably only around two dozen people who are in that category. While more than 1,300 have been charged and prosecutors secured a more than 950 convictions, as well as sentences of prison for about 500 defendants that have ranged from a couple of days in prison all the way up to 22 years in federal prison for an individual from the proud boys who was convicted of seditious conspiracy, chris. Ryan, thank you. Right now, President Joe Biden is heading to battleground wisconsin. His first stop after clinching the democratic nomination last night. Nbcs Shaquille Brewster is in milwaukee. What are the voters telling you ahead of his visit . Reporter theyre telling me they want to see President Biden fighting for their issues. Of course, that means Different Things to different people. You have President Biden here in milwaukee today announcing more than 3. 3 billion in investments for projects across the country including more than 36 million for a project here in milwaukee. Thats intended to connect black and brown neighborhoods and help rebuild those communities. But look, there are the raw politics here, as well. A day after President Biden was officially named the democratic presumptive nominee, hes trying to activate and mobilize key voters in key parts of the country. I want you to listen to some of the conversations ive had with those voters here in milwaukee. What do you want the president to know when he comes to visit wisconsin . I want the president to know when he comes to wisconsin that people like me are in supports of what hes doing 100 . I think i would just like him to be maybe more assertive. Reporter if President Biden were able to hear you right now, what do you want him to know about what it could take for him to earn your support in november . I guess like, you know, be more positive i guess, to the public. Make it so that we believe in him, that if he gets reelected hell do good things for america and for us. Reporter and theres also a Campaign Element to this, as well. The president will be visiting a Campaign Office later today. That just opened up in milwaukee. Its headquartered here in milwaukee for the first time in more than two decades. And you also see the president out in michigan later this week. He was in New Hampshire earlier this week. The Vice President is out on the road, as well, part of a fivestate swing. Youre really getting the sign that the president and Vice President are not only kicking off what they expect to be that reelection campaign, but really doing what they can to tout their message to key voters across the country. Chris . We see the president s plane, air force one, taxiing before Takeoff Heading to where shaq is. Shaquille brewster, thank you so much. Now to rfk jr. And his upcoming vp pick with nfl quarterback Aaron Rodgers on his short list. Vaughn hillyard covering this for us. I mean, presumably he guys got a day job. What can you tell us about all of this . Reporter look, he only actually took four snaps last year before getting injured and going out the rest of the season. Aaron rodgers is the 40yearold quarterback for the new york jets. He says he intends to play this season, the season set to kick off in september. But aaron rad injuries has waited rodgers has waded into discourse prominently the last four years. He is a Covid Vaccine skeptic. He was opposed to Shutdown Efforts he is somebody who is allied and endorsed robert f. Kennedy jr. So we have learned that kennedy has not only rodgers but also Jesse Ventura at the top of his life. Of course, folks will all that Jesse Ventura was a Famous Wwe Wrestler before he ran on the Reform Party Ticket line for governor of minnesota serving one term in the early 2000s. Hes been out of Political Office for now two decades. Yet, he has openly expressed interest in getting back into the political fold. He was at a Campaign Rally for Kennedy In Tucson last month. And so for robert f. Kennedy jr. , look, he told me more than a month ago that he had intended to announce his vp pick by march 5th. Of Course March 5th has come and gone, missing his own selfimposed deadline, which opens up the question who wants to run with kennedy as he is actively trying to run across the country. There could be a serious thirdparty independent run by kennedy, but hes going to need a vp pick. Could it be a quarterback or wwe wrestler . As for now, theyre at the top of his list, chris. Thank you. In 0 seconds, is tiktok 60 seconds, is tiktok toast . Whats next for millions of users after the house passes a bill that could ban the app from the u. S. App from the u. S. im getting vaccinated with pfizers Pneumococcal Pneumonia vaccine. So am i. Because im at risk for Pneumococcal Pneumonia. Come on. I already got a pneumonia vaccine, but im asking about the added protection of prevnar 20®. If youre 19 or older with certain chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, copd, or Heart Disease, or are 65 or older, you are at increased risk for Pneumococcal Pneumonia. Prevnar 20® is approved in adults to help prevent infections from 20 strains of the bacteria that cause Pneumococcal Pneumonia. In just one dose. Dont get prevnar 20® if youve had a severe allergic reaction to the vaccine or its ingredients. Adults with weakened Immune Systems may have a lower response to the vaccine. The most common side effects were pain and swelling at the injection site, muscle pain, fatigue, headache, and joint pain. I want to be able to keep my plans. I dont want to risk ending up in the hospital with Pneumococcal Pneumonia. Thats why i chose prevnar 20®. Ask your doctor or pharmacist about the Pfizer Vaccine for Pneumococcal Pneumonia. The fight over a bill that could ban the wildly popular app tiktok is moving to the senate after sailing through the house this morning. Driven by National Security concerns, the bill would require the app to cut ties with its beijingbased Parent Company or face a u. S. Ban. President biden backs the bill, but with 170 million americans including a lot of young voters on tiktok against it, could that be a huge political misstep . I want to bring in democratic congressman robert garcia. He represents californias 42nd district and voted against the bill in the house today. Its good to have you back on the program. This one wasnt even close, as you know. 35265. Why are so many of your colleagues worried about this, but you are not . At least not enough to vote for it. Look, i am very, very concerned. I think its very important to remember that 170 million americans, onethird of all u. S. Adults, use tiktok. They use it to communicate, to get information. Ven million americans use it as their Main Business where theyre entrepreneurs and business owners. And this idea that were going to treat this app differently than all the other apps that also have privacy concerns, whether its apps on facebook, x and twitter, i think is a huge mistake. A lot of us including myself and 50 other democrats feel this process was rushed through the house. Theyre not really understanding the impact this is going to have to so many people across this country, especially young people. I also think its quite unfair from a Free Expression perspective to punish tiktok. I share the privacy concerns, but theres a better approach than this. What is the better approach . Because youre not arguing about the fact that china is able to collect a lot of data on americans, use it to influence public opinions. Weve got a reasonably important election coming up. So whats the alternative here . I think first its important to remember that will there is no public evidence that right now china is somehow acquiring data from tiktok and using it to manipulate whatever their purpose is. So that have not been presented. The second thing thats important is Data Manipulation and the selling of our data is actually happening every single day. So the best way to approach this is to take on the issue of data, to protect our data from all platforms. To single out whats been the Fastest Growing platform because sometimes people dont like the content, i think is a huge mistake. Its also, in my opinion, i agree with the aclu, this is a huge issue when it comes to Freedom Of Expression and the third amendment. People are not understanding that 170 Million People use this. And it is going to be incredibly disruptive. You talk about a disruption to the political process, not only is this bad policy, the politics of removing an app like this where young people are engaged i view as a huge issue that were not thinking about more thoroughly. We should have slowed this down not pushed it. One republican social Media Consultant also, by the way, a trump ally told politico, it is foolish to go after tiktok in an election year. There is a political element to this potentially. I want to play what some users have expressed about this legislation. The message that i really want to get home to the American Government and everybody that is trying to pass this bill is you will be destroying Small Businesses like us. This is our livelihood. If you pass this bill, you will be destroying the American Dream that we really believe in. Do you believe this could have bad political implications and potentially for the president . I think it could have bad political implications for the country. I think thats why, what, 65plus members who understand the danger voted against this bill including over 50 democrats. But i think its also important, we share the privacy and Data Concerns. I actually believe that tiktok has misinformation, that there is Data Concerns around tiktok, but that also is Data Concerns around other social media platforms. So i think that is the bigger argument is the singling out of this one platform, i think is a mistake, and i think it could have political consequences. Im hopeful this has slowed down in the senate and they take their time and explore what the other options could be. Before you go, i want to talk to but your colleague in the house, republican ken bach saying hes frustrated with the current state of politics. Many others are doing that although theyre waiting until the end of their term. I dont have to tell you about the razorthin margin that republicans now have in the majority. One democratic operative even texted my colleague, sahill ka pur, and int just give us the majority for the rest of the year. Good grief. Do you see this as an opportunity for democrats . But do you think there are people on both sides of the aisle who are just sharing an incredible amount of frustration that may lead more to decide its just not worth the headache to do this job . I mean, first, look, representative buck, i have a lot of respect for the fact that he often tries to work with both sides of the aisle. Hes incredibly us from tratsd with his own frustratesed with his own conference and party. You have essentially a Republican Party that does not function, they barely have a majority. They have voted on numerous speakers. Theyre run by folks like green and Lauren Boebert Marjorie Taylor greene and Lauren Boebert who tries to impeach about everybody in the government. I understand particularly on the other side folks wanting to retire and that want to leave. But its a huge disfunction that House Republicans have created. And so were happy to take the majority over. Were ready to take the majority over. And to actually deliver for the american people. So i wish him the best, but i dont blame his decision. Congressman robert garcia, we appreciate your time. Thank you. Thank you. New today, hunter biden says he will not go to the public House Oversight hearing set for next wednesday. The general election rematch that most americans say they dont want is putting a spotlight on voters who say theyve got big problems with both joe biden and donald trump. In the Battleground State of North Carolina, nbc news put together a focus group of African American constituents as part of our ongoing deciders series. Their views on biden and trump are brutal. First thing that comes to mind . President biden. Old. Frablg ill. Incompetent. President trump. Divisive. Crazy. We have more on this. Reporter this was a group of 14 black voters in North Carolina who told us they really arent looking forward to a rematch between President Biden and former president trump. They frankly dont like either candidate. Now President Biden has always massively outperformed trump among black voters. But bidens numbers are starting to slip. Some of these voters told us they see bidens stated achievements for black voters as, quote, political mumbojumbo. Others said even if economic numbers have improved on paper, many peoples lived experiences have not, and that many People Struggle to pay for groceries or buy homes. Still, these voters left their most byting crimp for biting criticism for president trump. People like him more because of his indictments and mug shots, some say, and they called it racist. He thinks were all criminals. You know, that we all have mugshots. We all have friends with mugshots, so that would appeal to us. We all fall into this bucket of indictment. Because of that we should feel closer to our overly indicted president. I think low key wear laughing at him by buying those tshirts and wearing them. I feel like he views us as like just a joke. Reporter so very harsh words for trump as most of these voters say that he was insulting them with his outreach. That said, 12 people in this focus group said they voted for President Biden in 2020, now just nine say they would vot

say. god bless you. thank you so much. in case somebody told you today you are special in case somebody made you believe you re special that was lizzo performing at the grammies last night she also won record of the year for the song about down time. actually for that whole record and she dedicated that to prince. here she is performing. did you all watch last night? pete: i did not. i never watch but i was asleep. and my wife said the hip hop performances the celebration of that were really, really good. but then i see on just on social media there was like a satanic performance by sam smith. every moment you are like oh oh, okay. now we are doing the satan thing. one thing i could see watching an award show be that. a bunch of talented perform don t mind performing instead of getting trophies. i missed it. i would have to say i spent a lot of anytime tie to show how empty my life is i rewind tape all the sunday shows and go through the sunday shows. ainsley: do you really? pete: except you asked whether i worked yesterday which means you exclude fox & friends weekend. brian: did i watch. i heard lawrence. was lawrence on the show? pete: no. pete: pete revealed to you i watched one nation on saturday night. ainsley: lawrence has a show saturday night maybe you saw that. ainsley: they did an r and b things mixed. all the r and b. apparently satanic songs. pete: performance had to dabble that in there too. ainsley: really big balloon in the air. we begin with that as top stories. navy divers are working to recover the debris from the chinese spy balloon that was shot down over the weekend. brian: recovery effort underway as the white house claims three spy balloons flew over the u.s. urine detected during the trump administration. ainsley: that s what they say. pete: that s the new. brian: unkey texted it now. pete: detected the undetectable. charles is live in south myrtle myrtle beach with the latest. charles? navy divers were out searching the waters of the atlantic ocean to try to recover the debris from the chinese spy balloon shot down off the carolina coast on saturday. for sunday we were out here most of the day and saw several vessels large and small out on the water presumably for this operation which is expected to take days. we re told recovery efforts began not too long after the balloon was shot down by an f-22 fighter jet and debris went crashing into the atlantic. the suspected spy balloon originated in china and floated for at least a week through the continental u.s. with a brief diversification into canada before it eventually ended up off the coast of south carolina, shocking folks who live in the myrtle beach area. expected to come to your backyard and so, of course, when it does, you kind of follow it and watch what s going on and it s been something that s drawn the attention of all the people in the community. yeah, and so this balloon passed over at least five sensitive u.s. military sites including malmstrom air force base in montana, home to one of three of the nation s nuclear missile silos. while the biden administration fends off criticism of how long it took to take the balloon out, it is also pointing to the trump administration saying spy balloons flew over the u.s. unchecked during president trump s tenure. claims former director of national intelligence john ratcliffe say are false. something goes wrong in the biden administration, there is one of two responses, they either find a way to blame the trump administration, or they try and find a way to say the trump administration did it, too. it didn t. okay. you would have heard with it before. yeah. so, in a statement, a senior biden official tells fox news, quote: prc government surveillance balloons transited the continental u.s. briefly. at least three times during the prior administration. they went undetected. u.s. officials say at least one flew over both texas and florida while president trump was in office. followed by another suspected spy balloon that crashed into the park ocean off the coves hawaii just four months ago. now, we heard from senate majority leader schumer who says the gang of 8 is expected to receive an update on this matter in the coming days some time later this month. mean time president biden is defending his decision. he says he gave the authorization to shoot this suspected spy balloon down last wednesday but the pentagon waited until it was out at sea on saturday, guys. ainsley: charles, they are warning the residents to steer clear of any of the debris. have you seen anything? you know, i was just looking out in the water. and i thought i saw something in the water. but i think they are just birds. we heard from the myrtle beach police department who are telling people look if you see any of this debris, don t touch it. call authorities so we can make sure it s collected. brian: thanks, charles. brian: let s bring in montana state senator steve daines. great to see you. great to be here. brian: you guys were in the eye of the storm. first off, it gets spotted. the president wants to take it out wednesday. the pentagon who were ignored in afghanistan, the withdrawal, we ll wait four days. could they have shot down that balloon safely and not hurt any montana president. i m a fifth generation montanan spent a lot of time canvassing the state. plenty of places taken that balloon down. brian: seven mile. a cow, a prairie dog or antelope. this is called big sky country. they had a chance to take it out. they needed to take that shot when it first crossed into airspace in montana. hovering over our icb mss. we are proud of that mission in montana. one of the scaring the hell out of america s enemies since 1962 the chinese weren t afraid. those icbms are wednesday of mass destruction. those are the most powerful weapons known to mankind. we have those in montana. and as ronald reagan said that s about peace through strength. the chinese put that balloon right over top of them. pete: why did they not want to reveal that? it took a couple of a recover from who you know personally to take a photo and something the pentagon knew something about. why didn t they shoot it down? what s the rationale? blinken was planning to go to china. i think want the white house wanted to keep this quiet. had it not been for larry maher who was on the show earlier. i saw the interview. larry is a recover from. he happened to have a tell photo lens in his car. his buddy saw that white glow in the sky. larry hut business camera on it and quote that great shot and got it out. ainsley: brian interviewed lathat sdzhokhar. they spotted it and sent the pictures out. read a story about a ground stop in place at our airport in billings, i thought that was kind of suspicious. i was sort of glancing out the sea if there was any aircraft come in. instead, i knew it was something out of place. i put together all the pictures i had taken and started sending them to the faa. they eventually put me in touch with norad. the only thing i got from them was that they were crafting a response. that s what their email said. about an hour after that, the news broke at the pentagon. i think there was definitely an opportunity to bring it counsel and, honestly, i mean, if it had worked of the way that it should have, i should have never seen this thick to begin with. ainsley: u.s. intel officials say the balloon was not transmitting any intel information to china at the time. but mike pompeo is saying it s probably not true. he said china probably got all its collection that they needed in those first few days before we shot it down. the bigger issue here was the response to that balloon. this is more of a trial balloon by the chinese they took a look how decisive was this president? the president was in. he projected weakness that s what the chinese wanted to see happen. brian: what s worse. the pentagon, if we are to believe things and i don t know if we do. the president says shoot it down and they said yeah, in four days when we get a chance. who is the president? my word, brian, it was a joke. if he thought it was like the chinese spy balloon tour making its way across america selling t-shirts. this was a serious breach of u.s. airspace. brian: instead of the chinese apologizing with they said the u.s. used force to attack a civilian unmanned airship and there is going to be repercussions. repercussions what are they going to do. one more failure of several of this administration. go back to the afghanistan withdrawal debacle. the president is pleading with iran and venezuela to supply oil to the united states. here is one more example of a failure projecting weakness of the united states of america. pete: speaking of weakness. the state of the union is coming up. you are actually bringing a father who lost his son to fentanyl to the state of the union to highlight the crisis at the border yet we see the reverberation of illegals in this city. they say migrants but it s really an asylum complex of illegals where they exploit that system. now mayor adams is busing them up to canada. this is a problem that s made its way throughout the entire. brian: new yorkers are paying. pete: new yorkers are paying to bus illegals up to canada. you are highlighting the fentanyl crisis. how bad is it? we are a northern bored state. talked about the incursion of our airspace. we have a southern border crisis. 2 million illegals coming across the border. fentanyl and drugs that are absolutely literally killing us in montana. so tom is my guest in the state of the union address. is he from be beauty, montana. lost his son to a fentanyl overdose we lost 8 beauty residents. we have a producing it and flooding it across the border patrol agents. the agents want to stop that fentanyl because they can t because they are overwhelmed by the illegals coming across the border. biden can stop this if he changes policy and builds the wall. ainsley: how much has the yellowstone series helped your state? have you seen more tourists. oh my word everyone wants to move to montana. everyone thinks we have helicopters and fly across the state watching cows. ainsley: if it s true. if the show is accurate. if the people are like that. they are awesome, they are cowboys. they would have shot that thing down themselves. listen, on the day that the news broke and montanans could see it. our phones were overwhelmed with calls from montanans asking what can we do to help? times of tragedy in times of crisis, they stand up and they show up. mississippi s governor visits a town flattened by a powerful tornado for the neighborhoods that were leveled . the recovery is only just beginning. political turmoil in israel, benjamin netanyahu is under pressure from his own government to halt plans on judicial reform. now we re hearing an announcement on that could be imminent. we alive in televisa and jerusalem. with the latest and the manhattan grand jury is expected to continue its investigation and donald trump later today we will ask our political analyst if an indictment is likely. live from cnn center. this is cnn newsroom. with rosemary church. good to have you with us, and we begin this hour in the southeastern us, where millions are under the threat of more severe storms, bringing large hail and damaging winds to areas already struggling to recover from an earlier rash of storms over the weekend, at least 10 confirmed. tornadoes strike mississippi, alabama and tennessee, killing 26 people. the city of rolling fog. mississippi was almost completely flattened by one of those powerful tornadoes. the area is still mostly without power, and without the businesses that provide basic necessities. people in rolling fork are helping each other as they tackle the massive cleanup effort, and mississippi s governor says more help is on the way. what we ve seen. over the last 36 hours in mississippi , on the one hand, has been heartbreaking to see the loss and devastation of these communities, but on the other hand has been inspiring and gives me great reason for optimism and, quite frankly, makes me proud to be a mississippi and because mississippians have done what mississippians do in times of tragedy in times of crisis they stand up and they show up. cnn s isabel rosalie spoke with one man who barely survived the storm that devastated rolling fork. the latest that we re learning from the mississippi emergency management agency is that the four people who were missing it statewide. they have been accounted for now, so this is really switched over from a search and rescue effort into a recovery and rebuilding mission . this is a lot of what has been left over here in the city of rolling for just miles of debris any which way that you look, this used to be a mobile home park and now it just looks like a landfill as some people are describing irwin. megan i met him. this used to be his home right here and all that he has been able to recover from this site is a piece of luggage a carry on. inside a pair of tennis shoes, a shirt and jeans . that is all that is tangible that he has left to his name. he told me that right there is where he was sleeping. and on friday he felt tremendous fear he could feel the tornado coming his way and then the winds hit, according to meteorologist from the national weather service, they could have been as strong as 170 mph. this was an ef for their thinking. and then he felt those winds attempting to suck him out of his own home. the clear spot which you see is where i was at laying down. this was your home? yes. and where were you at? when the right in this area where is cleared and had a mattress sold me? but it flew off and then the blanket. i mean, not a blank, but carpet. just wrapped around me, and i was right there. why everything was lifted and torn off. and. i feel myself being sucked. out but i didn t. i don t. i just had this no, it s tight as i could until it passed over. and then i hollered for help, and i waited a minute or two and when i stood up. i just signed this petition light on around. and no one was around. it was a few people on the ground, maybe four or five, walking around trying to help and it was bad. you know, in. just to be able to walk away from this. home worry about nothing else. and i just feel blessed to still be alive. meteorologist from the national weather service. they went to sites exactly like this conducting a survey and analysis of all of this debris left behind and what they concluded from their preliminary findings is that at least 10 tornadoes struck three states, mississippi , alabama and tennessee. one of them was an ef four tornado, and that s the one that struck right here. rolling fork and silver city. these are tornadoes that are extremely rare if fours and fives which we did not see in the city. chueh shin happened only about 1% of the time here in the united states. and or considered extremely dangerous. now, this particular tornado they found went across 59 miles and was on the ground for over an hour back to you. alright let s get more on where the storms are heading from cnn meteorologist brutally rates. unfortunately the same areas are going to get him to once again. we ve been dealing with it all through the evening, and it will continue through the overnight and early morning hours. many hail reports as well as wind and , yes, tornado reports over the last 24 hours, same areas getting hit once again areas highlighted in red alexandria, louisiana, back into jackson, mississippi montgomery, alabama . these are areas that are most vulnerable for long lived tornadoes. ef three or stronger with winds guesting over 100 mph in some sense large hail to very large. hail. we re talking golf ball size. hail, if not larger, we ve already had hail reports of two inches and this will extend through georgia back up into the carolinas through the overnight hours, areas highlighted in yellow meaning it s not going to be as strong but we re still dealing with the same threats wind inhale going to be our biggest concerns. this rides up into tomorrow. so areas highlighted in yellow savannah, georgia back into albany up into parts of south carolina. large hail, damaging winds main threats going into your monday, but a tornado or two cannot be ruled out heavy rain. also another big concern is this true? trains over the same areas . pay attention to the timeframe here sunday night into monday morning, pushing through alabama into central georgia up into the carolinas again, it starts to weaken. we lose that tornado threat but holding on to the threat of damaging winds and large hail areas from just south of birmingham and atlanta, picking up 2 to 4 more inches of rain through monday, that s who these areas highlighted in orange. isolated higher amounts are definitely possible. so that flash flood threat continues on through the overnight and early tomorrow morning. macon georgia back into montgomery areas highlighted in red again where you re most vulnerable, but this extends back into parts of mississippi up into the carolinas through monday morning , so remember if you come across the roadway and water turn around, find a different route. you just don t know how deep that water is back to you. thanks for that. well the governor of georgia issued a state of emergency for a large tornado struck south of the town of lagrange on sunday. at least three people were injured. dozens of homes were destroyed and as many as 100 damaged and just a few hours ago, a hail storm moved through parts of atlanta. the national weather service, issuing a considerable flood threat for nearly two million people in the atlanta area, in effect for a couple more hours and there are preliminary reports of flooding on some highways. we are following developments out of israel, where israeli channel 12 is reporting that prime minister benjamin netanyahu is expected to announce a halt in judicial overhaul legislation. that news comes amid growing calls to put a pause on that controversial plan for those reforms and after massive protests erupted on the streets of television following the sacking of the defense minister. journalist elliott godkin was there when the protests erupted and has this report. as the saying goes, if you re going to shoot at the king, you d better not miss. and it seems that israel is now ex defense minister missed when he gave a press conference on saturday evening and became the first minister to call for a halt to this government s judicial overhaul because when prime minister benjamin netanyahu returned from his weekend in london, he sat gallant and the result of that. it s what you see behind me, thousands and thousands of people on the streets of central television showing their support for gallant in his opposition to this judicial overhaul and reiterating their opposition to an overhaul, pretty much all checks and balances on the government, allowing it to put its allies in the supreme court and preventing the supreme court from striking down laws passed by parliament accepted very narrow circumstances. no since its announcement by netanyahu since it came out, but he had sat gallant. these people have come out onto the streets. they re usually out on the streets for the past three months on saturday evenings and on thursday sunday evening, they are incredibly angry that this has happened. we ve heard from opposition leaders like prime minister and benny gantz, former defense minister coming out and saying that netanyahu has crossed a red line. former prime minister ehud barak, netanyahu to step down the historic israel s main labor union has called for a general strike. on monday. so if netanyahu thought that sacking gallant was going to quash dissent in his ranks and put an end to opposition to this dude is real overhaul. he was very much mistaken. the scene, and this is elliot godkin in television. joining us now from tele, viv is barack ravid, middle east correspondent with axles appreciate you being with us. thank you very much. so what more are you hearing about this report that prime minister benjamin netanyahu is expected to announce a halt in his judicial reform legislation that has caused all of these problems. well i think that in the last few hours, at least according to what likud officials are saying people from netanyahu s party people around him are saying that he is expected to announce a suspension of this judicial overhaul. he was supposed to speak something like 30 minutes from now, but just i think. two minutes ago, his office announced that he s postponing his statement is announcement to the nation. um and i think that what we re seeing now is an internal fight around netanyahu between two camps between many people in his party who are saying that this judicial overall is crossed all red line and it s staring. the country apart. the minister of defense gallant who was fired by netanyahu yesterday just finished the hearing in the knesset in parliament, and warned that iran, hezbollah and other of israel s adversaries are cheering to what is going on now in the country. on the other hand, netanyahu s minister of defense sorry netanyahu ministers of justice levin, who initiated this whole process of judicial overhaul netanyahu s sun your unit and are pressing him very hard to continue pushing this legislation. netanyahu s far right partners. ah um saleh smotrycz, the minister of finance and the minister of national security here are also pressing netanyahu to continue with the legislation and even threatening that they could dissolve the government if he suspends the legislation. netanyahu s somewhere in the middle and i think that within the next hour or two, we will know the final decision. so essentially this putting israel in limbo so it could be suspended. but there s a lot of pressure that netanyahu s failing to go forward with this talk to us about what would likely happen what the political backlash and public reaction would be. be in the days ahead if prime minister netanyahu gives into the pressure and goes ahead proceeds with his plan to reform israel s judiciary. well first i want to say this is no judicial reform. okay? and i think it is clear to everybody right now. this is a power grab to try and take control of israel judicial system. weaken it week another democratic institutions. if netanyahu goes ahead, okay, just minutes before we started talking. the head of the workers union in the country. announced a general strike. in israel. um and this is just another step in the deep economic crisis israel has plunged into in the last three months since this thing was announced, and i think that netanyahu also sees that and i think that more and more you see every minute every hour more and more organizations in the country are announcing a general strike hospitals just this morning, several government hospitals announced that they re going on strike because the doctors refused to continue business as usual while this country is going through this kind of crisis, so i think that if netanyahu pushes forward he can. he can take this to a vote , but i m not sure that at the moment he even has the votes he needs to pass this legislation. so what do you think is happening? what is the internal discussion here and the forces against this overhaul? they greater than those who is saying that they should back off. i think so. i think that you know , the protest against the judicial overall has been going on for 12 weeks now. last night at 9 30 pm after netanyahu fired the minister of defense. thousands tens of thousands and at a certain point more than 100,000 israelis spontaneously went to the streets to demonstrate the main highway in televisa was full of people demonstrating against just this judicial overall and you see it all over the country not only television sit in jerusalem last night in front of netanyahu s residents, who sit in high five seat in barysheva in the south, you see all over the country and yesterday one of the interesting things was that you suffer the first time in the demonstrations, people say. i voted for netanyahu voted for likud. but enough is enough. this government has went off the rails and it needs to stop. and i think this was very interesting last night that you saw people were the base of this government who said enough is enough? will certainly be watching this very closely to see what happens next. barak ravid joining us live from television, many things for joining. thank you. well still to come. it s another week of legal woes for donald trump, and his comments over the weekend may have added another problem to the pile. officials in philadelphia say the tap water is safe to drink following a chemical spill. but why are residents still worried? we ll take a look at that. what s the number one retinol b brand used most by dermatologists. neutrogena labeling it prosecutorial misconduct in reference to the legal battles he s currently facing. so where do you see all of this going? and how likely is it? that he ll be indicted as a result of those legal problems. well you know, he did start off this campaign with a rally in waco, texas, which is sacred ground for the white nationalists and militarists in america, because that s where the conflict between a breast davidian group and the government took place in 1993, but sacred ground for the far right. he opened his rally with a song. uh, j

cnn newsroom. it was like no notice. we didn t know what was happening. city is gone, but we will resilient. and we re gonna come back. we re going to come back strong. unfortunately coming up here in the upcoming 24 hours we are expecting to deal with the same threats over the same areas. the thugs and criminals who are corrupting our justice system will be defeated , discredited and totally disgraced. i don t believe that bragg would be doing this if donald trump were not running for president. really prime minister benjamin netanyahu, firing his own defense minister who is a member of his own political party with these people are saying is they care about democracy? i think it shows the vitality vibrancy of israel s democracy. live from london. this is cnn newsroom with max foster and bianca nobilo. monday march 27th nine am here in london. 11 am in israel were just a short time ago, the country s largest union called for and historic general strike. universities are also on strike today. these moves after prime minister benjamin netanyahu fired his defense minister over his opposition to controversial plans for judicial overhaul. that also sparked spontaneous protests on the streets of tele viv late on sunday night. thousands turned out in the city as calls grow for netanyahu to delay plans for judicial reforms will head now to jerusalem and cnn s had asked gold with the latest hearing. now the airport is closed as well. it feels like the country s coming to a standstill. the country is coming to a screeching halt max over these judicial reforms we ve already experienced more than 12 weeks of regular protests, but it really feels as though today it is completely coming to a head just a couple hours ago in about an hour ago, the largest union in israel, which by itself could bring the country to a halt. it s a union that represents everything from teachers to business workers to factory workers. they announced an immediate general strike and then the airport. the one main airport for israel announced their union announced an immediate halt to takeoff landings as we understand, are still going to take place, especially of course of flights are in the air. but all takeoffs are immediately halted. now we know from people who are at the airport right now. it s a bit chaotic. people are still trying to figure out exactly what is happening. boardings that we re in the process have suddenly been stopped. we spoke to a spokesperson for the israeli airport authorities saying that adds of right now all takeoffs are halted. they did expect her on 70,000 total passengers. today, about half of them were supposed to be arriving. about half of them were supposed to be departing, but this literally brings the entire country to a halt. the last time the airport was closed, max was during war. when israel and hamas militants in gaza engaged in that about 10 11 day war in 2021, so rockets were flying in the air. that s why the airport was closed. this is the next time the airport was closed, and it s in response to this massive judicial overhaul. of course, this all started on saturday evening when the defense minister yoav galant, dared to make a striking speech calling for a halt to this controversial judicial overhaul that would place immense power in the hands of the israeli parliament, allowing them to overturn supreme court decisions, saying that the divisiveness over this reform was creating a tangible and credible threat to israeli security 24 hours later, he is fired by benjamin netanyahu. gallant the minister of defense , was the first minister to come out against these reforms calling to halt of course, as defense minister. he is very high ranking and then after that firing, we saw all those those spontaneous protests while protests have been going on. for now, more than 12 weeks, the protest last night they felt different. they felt more angry . they felt a little bit more violent. they went late in into the night this morning we heard from the israeli president isaac herzog immediately calling for a halt. we heard from the jewish agency immediate calling for a halt. we heard from actually some other ministers in benjamin netanyahu s own government, calling for at least a freeze to the legislation. we have not yet heard from benjamin netanyahu himself. there were reports he was going to make a speech in the last hour or so that he was going to announce a free civil legislation. still we have not heard anything. meanwhile the country is in chaos. it s possible that the entire country is going to grind to a halt. with this general strike. schools could go and strike businesses could be on strike. you know, you might not be able to go to the shops day and of course, if you have a flight plan to leave today. well, you re not going to be leaving israel anytime soon, max. just explain where the pressure is coming from for him to continue pushing for these reforms and why it s so difficult for him to climb down from this position. well it does seem as though and we are seeing some reports that even some of those stall warp for the pressure points that were within his own government may now also be agreeing it is time to stop. much of this pressure was coming from the right wing flanks of his government. these were the settler leaders. these were the ultra orthodox who have their own reasons for wanting to push forward with these reforms. but keep in mind. benjamin netanyahu has his own reasons for wanting to push forward with these reforms. he has denied over and over again that this massive judicial overhaul has anything to do with his own ongoing corruption trial. but when you just look at the bare facts if the israeli government will have more power over selecting judges if the israeli government the politicians in power would have more power in being able to potentially overturn high court decisions. that might have an effect on somebody s own corruption trial. now again, he has denied this over and over again. he has denied the charges against him, but we still have not heard from benjamin netanyahu. but we are hearing reports that even some of these far right wing members of his government that ll all smotrycz and the like are now agreeing that it may be time to at least freeze legislation doesn t this doesn t mean it s going to completely stop? it doesn t mean that reforms of some kind will not move forward because people do say reforms may be needed. but perhaps now we will finally see some sort. we have compromised reform going forward , max. okay, we ll stay with you for any updates, had asked thanks for joining us from jerusalem. meanwhile millions of people across several states in the southeastern us are under severe weather threats as a storm system that s already left behind a deadly child destruction moves east in georgia. the governor issued a state of emergency after a large tornado struck a town about an hour southwest of atlanta on sunday. at least three people were injured. dozens of homes were destroyed and as many as 100. were damaged over the weekend, at least 10 confirmed. tornado struck mississippi, alabama and tennessee, killing 26 people. the city of rolling fork, mississippi was almost completely flattened by one of those powerful tornadoes. president biden approved a disaster declaration for parts of mississippi to get federal funds flowing quickly to the areas most in need. one survivor in rolling fork who lost everything in the storm tells cnn. he s just grateful to be alive. not being sucked out. that s a blessing because i could feel my body sleeping coming all out. friday, isn t it? just to be able to walk away from this. home worry about nothing else. you know, just feel blessed to still be alive. the area is still mostly without power and without the businesses that provide basic necessities. the police and fire department facilities were all destroyed. here s what the mayor of rolling fork had to say. the city of roland fork will come back. bigger. and better. than ever before. with all of those who were unaccounted for on saturday now located safely. the effort is entirely on the clean up here, and there is a lot of it to be done. there s very little of this community that was untouched by the storm that ripped through here on friday night, but one of the things that really stood out to our crew here is just how everyone is chipping in to help. it s something that the governor talked about earlier when he spoke to the media. what we ve seen. over the last 36 hours in mississippi, on the one hand, has been heartbreaking to see the loss and devastation of these communities, but on the other hand has been inspiring and gives me great reason for optimism and, quite frankly, makes me proud to be a mississippi and because mississippians have done what mississippians do in times of tragedy in times of crisis they stand up and they show up part of what s giving us a better understanding of the scope of this devastation is the aerial footage that we ve seen. it shows just how widespread this damage is, and gives an indication of how much time it will take to clean up. nick valencia, cnn. rolling fork, mississippi. let s get more on where the storms are heading, then from cnn meteorologist pretty rats. unfortunately the same areas are going to get him to once again. we ve been dealing with it all through the evening, and it will continue through the overnight and early morning hours. many hail reports as well as wind and, yes, tornado reports over the last 24 hours, same areas getting hit once again areas highlighted in red alexandria, louisiana, back into jackson, mississippi montgomery, alabama. these are areas that are most vulnerable for long lived tornadoes. ef three or stronger with winds guesting over 100 mph in some sense large hail to very large. hail we re talking golf ball size. hail, if not larger, we ve already had hail reports of two inches and this will extend through georgia back up into the carolinas through the overnight hours, areas highlighted in yellow meaning it s not going to be as strong but we re still dealing with the same threats wind inhale going to be our biggest concerns. this rides up into tomorrow. so areas highlighted in yellow savannah, georgia back into albany up into parts of south carolina. large hail, damaging winds main threats going into your monday, but a tornado or two cannot be ruled out heavy rain. also another big concern is this true? trains over the same areas pay attention to the timeframe here sunday night into monday morning, pushing through alabama into central georgia up into the carolinas again, it starts to weaken. we lose that tornado threat but holding on to the threat of damaging winds and large hail. areas from just south of birmingham and atlanta , picking up 2 to 4 more inches of rain through monday. that s these areas highlighted in orange. isolated higher amounts are definitely possible so that flash flood threat continues on through the overnight and early tomorrow morning make in georgia back into montgomery areas highlighted in red again where you re most vulnerable, but this extends back into parts of mississippi up into the carolinas through monday morning , so remember if you come across the roadway and water turn around, find around. you just don t know how deep that water is back to you. thank you separately now in the coming hours of manhattan grand jury is expected to continue its investigation into former u. s. president donald trump. they re looking into whether trump falsified business records to cover up hush payments for an alleged affair with an adult film star trump took to social media to lay into manhattan district attorney alvin bragg, the man leading the hush money probe. and so did other republican lawmakers. we re sick and tired of meddling in federal elections, and i don t believe that bragg would be doing this. if donald trump were not running for president, and that s something that we would like to ask mr bragg as well. would you be doing this if he weren t a declared candidate for president for president, knighted states? if so, if this is the reason you re doing then this is a political investigation, and we again desperately want to keep ah, you know, the department of justice from meddling in presidential elections. trump railed against his legal battles at a rally over the weekend, accusing democrats of trying to sully his name and prevent him from getting back to the white house. prosecutorial misconduct is their new tool, and they are willing to use it at levels never seen before. in our country. we ve had it, but we ve never had it like this. we must stop them, and we must not allow them. to go through another election, where they have yet another. tool in their tool kit. trump also predicted quote, potential death and destruction would follow if he were to be indicted after those remarks as attorney went into damage control. i m not his social media consultant. um i don t. i think that was an ill advised post that one of his social media people put up and he quickly took down when he realized the rhetoric in the photo that was attached to it. the double shooting at a sikh temple in sacramento, california has left two people, two men in critical condition and two facing arrest as well, it happened is temple members were celebrating a religious event with the parade. investigators say three men got into an argument and the guns came out. two men were shot in. the third ran from the scene, but was later court. they say it appears all three men knew each other. and that was a personal dispute in philadelphia officials say they are confident that tap water is safe to drink after a chemical spill in the nearby delaware river. they say they haven t found any contamination in the city s water supply. but that hasn t calmed down residents as many rushed to buy bottled water is danny freeman has more. the message of the city of philadelphia wants to put out there is that the water here in the city is absolutely safe to drink and that it is not contaminated. at this point, it will remain safe to drink until monday night around 11 59 just before midnight, but i want to explain exactly how we got to this point. the contamination actually happened back on friday evening, there was a chemical spill in bristol township. it s part of bucks county, which is about 20 miles north of here, and there was a chemical spill in the delaware river. and of course, the delaware river is one of the main water supply. here s to philadelphia, the city of philadelphia, out of an abundance of caution issued an alert to the residents here saying you should drink bottled water if you are concerned, although they said the risk was still very low from the beginning, but philadelphians they heeded that advice. they took that concern seriously, and they rushed supermarkets all over the city, including this one here in south philadelphia. take a listen to what one resident told us. her experience was when she tried to buy some water. we were hopeful going in because it didn t seem that chaotic. just regular sunday at the south philly but we got there were okay, i ll go to the water. i ll see what s going on. it is bare and you can see people looking at like the seltzer and the weird flavor jaws being like, okay, like maybe this will work. we bought some juice. there s water and juice. you know, like i overheard one of the workers, saying there s no more water in the store, now the manufacturing company of the product that spilled into delaware river, it s called terenzio plc. they explained in a statement that the spill occurred because equipment failure and ultimately resulted in 8100 gallons of a latex polymer of a solution that had latex polymer in it seeping into the delaware river. they described it as a white liquid used in various consumer goods. but again, the philadelphia water department says none of that, as of now has gotten into the philadelphia water supplies to the message. still until monday night, and 59 is that the water here is safe to drink. danny freeman, cnn, philadelphia and just an hour north of philadelphia. seven people are now Transcripts For CNN The Lead With Jake Tapper 20240706

year what we re learning about the 28 year old woman, police say was responsible. and uproar in israel. prime minister benjamin netanyahu responds to protest that brought his country to a standstill, postponing a major vote to overhaul the judicial system. blast troubled waters bottled water hard to come by and philadelphia and major american city that can t guarantee how long water will be safe to drink. welcome to the lead. i m pamela brown in for jake tapper, and we start with our national lead with another devastating school, shooting three students and three adult victims. they are dead today after a woman opened fire at the school. according to police. she is now dead. nashville police are scheduled to give another update on this tragic shooting this hour. we re going to bring that to you live. as soon as it happens, but students there at the covenant school our preschool through sixth grade, according to its website, video shows staff as you see right here, ushering some of them outside to safety single file holding hands. police say the female shooter was 28 years old and may have attended the school herself at some point. the 1st 911 call came in at 10 13 this morning 14. minutes later the suspect was dead after two officers engaged her police say first lady jill biden and president biden reacted to the shooting just a short while ago. we just learned about another. shooting in tennessee. a school shooting. and i am truly without words. and our children deserve better. and we stand all of us. we stand with nashville in prayer. we do know that, as of now there are a number of people who are not did not make it. including children. it s heartbreaking family s worst nightmare. we have to do more to stop gun violence. it s ripping our communities apart. and we start our coverage today with cnn s dianne gallagher. diane, what are you hearing from investigators? alright now pamela. investigators are trying to determine exactly what happened. the sequence of events that led to this tragedy and why why this 28 year old woman who they say lives in the nashville area would have gone and killed . students healed. children killed teachers at this school. according to police. three children were killed and three staff members were killed at the covenant school about 200 students total who attend this private christian school as you mentioned from preschool to sixth grade. they serve their they got that first call at 10 13 am and they say that by 10:26 a.m. two police officers had reached the upper level and, in their words engaged with the suspect killing her now, according to police, they are trying to determine how that 28 year old woman got inside the school. they say she entered through a side door. but according to the chief of police, all of the doors were locked. she then made her way up to what they call an upper level of the school, which again is inside of a church area. and they say that the shooting itself happened in what they describe as a lobby area. now there was a car on scene that the police chief says helped lead them to identifying the suspect who they have not named at this point, but do say she s a 28 year old white woman from the nashville area who may have at one point been a student at the school. they say that she was armed with two assault style rifles and a handgun. pamela again. three students killed three staff members killed. they say there were no additional injuries of anybody. but there is this just heartbreaking video of children being had no hand in hand exiting out of this. these are little kids here, and they are still working to determine. they say there was video of the school that the police are viewing that to see how this happened. they commended the work of the officers and of the students themselves. who unfortunately, even and their young age knew what to do in a situation like this, pamela it is just beyond heartbreaking. their lives changed forever as today and three innocent children lost their lives. three adults at that school. what more do we know about the identity of the victims and their ages? so it was very sadly poignant moment. the chief of police said that they had identified all of those who were killed and made contact with their families. but he didn t want to release their names just yet, and was not going to release their ages either. and look pamela. that s likely because these are probably very young children. this is absolutely traumatic. you could tell for the officers for the students for the teachers. there was a daughter of one of the teachers who spoke with one of our local affiliates in the national area, and she said that she texted with her mother. during this and her mother was locked inside of her classroom with her students that she was scared. she wanted to tell her family that she loved them that she could hear the shooting and she felt like at one point someone was trying to get inside of her classroom. and unfortunately, that sounds so familiar because we ve heard this story time and time again all across the country. the police in nashville did credit the fact that they have sadly have experience with this and they were able to respond quickly to this and knew exactly what to do in this situation again, highlighting less than 15 minutes after receiving that first call, the shooter was dead. diane gallagher. thank you . i would not bring in rust pulley he serves on the nashville metropolitan council and represents the area where covenant school is located. ross you are right now at a church where students are being reunited with their families tell us about the emotion in that room right now. well the emotion downstairs because we have the children separated from the parents, uh, throughout this process in order to orderly, ensure that the parents were properly united with their children. that s been, uh ah, an orderly and neat process. uh and it is now just about completed. the children were certainly huddled in their classrooms. and it was the atmosphere was much like you would see at a school if they were all together in the assembly upstairs where the parents were in the sanctuary, not so much as you could imagine. i mean, people were obviously emotional, having had their children go through an experience like this, but the process is about complete now, and there s a few witnesses being interviewed. so um most if not all, the children have been reunited with their parents. uh we made it through this. unfortunately as we know there are other parents grieving. they are. do you know if those parents have been notified? those three parents, three sets of parents notified about their children having been killed in this mass shooting there at the school today. um, any information that i have is unconfirmed and had heard that they were notified and they were sent to the hospital. but again , that s unconfirmed information so i wouldn t use me as your source at the scene. uh pretty much all day. um and you know, i ve been with the kids and the families here, so information is not really flowing to me and confirmed nature. alright well, we ll be sure to follow up on that. did you have a chance to speak with some of these kids? how are they holding up? what did they tell you? oh i absolutely did. but i didn t talk to these kids, uh, from the standpoint of asking questions about when or what went on. i was interacting with the children as if i was showing up at school for a day, just trying to keep the mood light down there, and they made that very easy. so, you know i m not a therapist, but my suspicion is that will change and do time, but for now they re reacting quite well. i m just wondering. i mean, this is the 129th shooting mass shooting this year . there have been so many school shootings as well. what s it like for you? i mean being on being a councilman there in nashville? how do you look at this school shooting? what more needs to be done to prevent it? i mean, are we just at a place in society where parents just have to basically think to themselves? well um, you know this. this could be my child s school next. well i m in a bit of a unique position serving on the council because i left completed 36 year long enforcement career before i got elected to council, so i ve got experience. in that field, and, um, you know, unfortunately, this is the world in which we live. this school prepared for this with active shooter training for a reason we are. we don t like to think that this is ever going to happen to us. but experience has taught us that we need to be prepared because in this day and time he is the reality of where we are. and it happened here, right? right it s a very sad, very sad reality. but i guess to follow up on what you said yes, they ve been preparing for this. police have been preparing for this. but should we just accept that reality should we tolerate that reality? no we shouldn t tolerate them reality any more than we tolerate, uh, people killing each other every day. we have a murder rate that s intolerable, and we have these experiences that are intolerant , intolerable for the people who experience them and society in general, so sure people in my position we. we think and fight for ways to do things that are guiding principle. principles bring us to in order to try to minimize the damage. uh but, you know, we re kind of left with the battles that we fight over what we think is appropriate and what we think it s thought, and we continue to educate ourselves . but no, the answer. your question is, it s not tolerable and we re just going to continue to do what we can to try to minimize this. alright metropolitan nashville councilman russ pulley. thank you so much for your time, and we should note within the hour. we expect an update from police about this tragedy in nashville . earlier, they said the shooter had two assault style rifles and a handgun. i had the rarity of this being a female shooter and the new calls from president biden to ban assault weapons will be back. next on behind the series performance was legenendy . they jusust piled it on roast beef, ham oveven roasted turkey all on thehe subway. 12. repeat that s great. three meat. that s epic subway series, the greatest menu of all time record label is taking off, but so is your sound engineer. you need to hire. ined, indeed you do. indeed instant match instantly delivers quality candidates matching your job description. visiting .com slash higher finally hold social media companies accountable pass bipartisan legislation. big tech collecting personal data on our kids. two days online. targeted advertising their children. hey, man. could save hundreds for safe driving with liberty mutual because demise your car insurance, so you only pay for what you need. who we gotta go again for what you need. liberty liberty liberty. you need new replacement windows, but you re just not sure if they re in the budget this year, right? brian gary here with ted coons from renewable anderson, and he s here to talk about how to make window replacement more affordable. well first, brian, you don t have to do them all. you could just replace your worst windows first or another way to make them affordable is to change the style of window for example, you could do a gliding window instead of a casement. we have a lot of ways to make window projects really affordable compared to other window cos you have a completely different business model with other companies. there s just too many people involved in the process. there s the manufacturer, the seller and then the installer and then the customer. and if you call with a problem, that s when they say. oh well, we re the manufacturer . you have to call the installer for that problem. vice versa were the full service replacement window division of anderson with us. there s no passing the buck at renewal by anderson. we sell, build, install and warrant our windows and patio doors. so if there s ever an issue, we take full responsibility for it. why don t you sell by the windows? well, a lot of vinyl products just don t hold up well in the elements, you know, like a vinyl fence. when it s first installed, it looks great, but with expansion and contraction at dis colors and cracks for that same reason , a lot of vinyl windows just won t last are window material is a composite that combines the best of vinyl and wood. five. rex is low maintenance like vinyl, but stronger than vinyl. and it s beautiful, like wood, but doesn t require the upkeep of wood renewal by anderson s 31 day sale before march, 31st by one window or door and get the next 1 40% off with a minimum purchase of four. that s 40% off, plus, save an extra $200 on your project and don t pay anything for a year. our 31 day sale ends march 31st for a free appointment. call 1 805 oh, 1 1400. it s 1 805 oh, 1 1400. these that s more like it. what will you do? will you make something better? create something new. our dell technologies advisors can provide you with the tools and expertise. you need to bring out the innovator in you. closed captioning brought to you by invent help. call 1 807 1. oh oh! oh two. oh, you have an invention idea, but don t know what to do. next call invent help today they can help you get started with your idea. call now. 807 100020. we have to do more to protect our school so they aren t turned into prisons. you know the shooter? in this situation reportedly had to assault weapons and a pistol to make a 47. so i call on congress again to pass my assault weapons ban. it s about time that we began to make some more progress. as you heard the president biden is calling on congress to pass his assault weapons ban in the wake of another school shooting. three students and three adults are dead after a female shooter entered the school and opened fire, according to police and now joined by former fbi official catherine sh, white and former secret service agent jonathan wackrow. catherine this shooter was a 28 year old. nashville woman. police say police believe she was a student at the school at some point, which would have been over a decade ago. considering her age now, how significant is this connection for investigators? i think what it tells us right away is, in some cases supporting, not surprising she s from the area. she knows she s familiar with the building. and that s not surprising the fact that school shooters her age at 28, most of school shooters, more than two out of three school shooters are under the are teens are in their twenties. she fits right into that category. shooters who shoot at school shooting their neighborhoods. they shoot people they re familiar with, so i think there s a lot of things that it tells me and some of the things that i don t know, because it s a female is probably more likely that her her grievance was with an individual in the school, whether it was a real or perceived grievance, and she planned to do this kind of destruction because of that grievance, and i ll get you in a second, jonathan to follow up on what you just said. how often do the shooter s engaged in a shooting like this? because as of a precipitating crisis, something that like triggers them a grievance that happens around the time of the shooting. yeah i think that s a great question because i think it s good to differentiate. there s always a grievance, whether it s a real or perceived grievance, but sometimes a stressing situation like you re fired at a job or you have a financial meltdown at home or you break up with your boyfriend or girlfriend or your parents kick you out of the house those stressing situations can cause somebody to choose to act on a particular day. but this is a planned event, so the grievance has been there or the grievances have been there, and she planned this event for quite a while. and jonathan. female mass shooters are extremely rare. what questions do you have right now about the suspect, who police say is a 28 year old female from the area? yeah, well, listen, pamela, you know, it s hard to answer the question of exactly what are the differences between a male and female mass shooter and the reason being is just because we don t have a lot of female mass shooters. we just don t have a lot of statistical information to make the analysis, but what we do know is that these violent attacks are perpetrated by people from different backgrounds with varying degrees of motivation, but unfortunately the outcome is always the same. it s this loss of life. and while we re just starting to search for that motive right now, gators are just starting this process. we do know that the method of the attack was known. the police know how that occurred. but the question remains. why was this? a deliberate act of terror or hate? was she motivated by some sort of particular ideology? um, and what i want to note from, uh , witnesses is was she looking for somebody during the attack? did she exhibit any type of target acquisition characteristics? in this case, the location of the shooting to me is more telling than the actual gender of the of the perpetrator and the fact that this attack was launched at a school investigators will key in on that location, especially since we know that she is a student going back to my co panelists. the grievance issue. studies from the national threat assessment center have shown that nearly half the time in these, um you know, mass shooting attacks. the perpetrator was motivated by some sort of personal grievance, and that could be a grievance recently or it could be a grievance that metastasized over time. and the nexus back to that school, i think is going to lead us to a better understanding of the motivation. and as you point out from that grievance, you see loss of life. in this case, three children three adult victims, and it is notable that they re they all die. the victims here in this case, katherine. they died. there weren t any wounded. it is a reminder that these weapons they said that there s um two assault style weapons guns being used that they are designed to kill. yeah i think that that s a great point, pamela, because, you know, you see how shook up the law enforcement officers are who are responding because these aren t a name and an age of these children and adults. these are high velocity rounds that go in and terra body apart, and those officers had to see that and that s what they re coming back within their minds, and they ll never be able to unsee. so many people s lives changed. forever because of this today, catherine schweiz, jonathan wackrow. thank you, and as we stand by to hear more from national police were following some other big stories for you this hour, including a major announcement from israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu in the wake of a ground swell of protests and the new pressure these demonstrations actually put on president biden here in the us plus the bombshell witness, cnn just learned testified today in the grand jury there in new york linked to hush money payments and donald trump. the new chasing business premier card is made for people like sam who make everyday products design smarter, like a smart coffee grinder. fresh beans for you, genius for more breakthroughs like that. i need a breakthrough card like ours. 0.5% cash back on purchases of $5000 and more unlimited 2% cash back on all other purchases and with greater spending potential , keep making smart ideas. brilliant reality. the new business premier card from chase for business make more of what s yours. angie list is now angie , and it s easier than ever to get you projects done right. inside outside, big or small and helps you find the right solution for whatever you need done with angie. you can connect with top local pros and see ratings and reviews just search or scroll to see upfront pricing on hundreds of projects. and when you book and pay their andy , you re cov
