break. we have one system working and going to bring rain to places like northern and central california and up the coast to washington and oregon. parts of southern california will stay dry. that s really important, right? we ve seen ample amounts of snow. we know the situation is really dire in some spots there, but we have another system we re going to watch develop just offshore, it intensifies, and that s going to bring ample amounts of rain and snow again to parts of the sierras, and along the coast we ll see heavy rain which that flooding concern will be once again something to watch in the coming day. places like minneapolis are now under these winter weather alerts, that will likely stay through the end of the week as this system gears up, but we could see a another 1 to 2 feet of snow. they ve had all the snow out west, jonathan. for us in the northeast not so much. yeah, they ve been pretty selfish about this. still ahead, it s a big week around here and we re going to c

the snow out west. i think we ve had everything but the locusts. wow. let s talk about the grid for a second, though. when you look at all the problems we re having here, this is a wide swath of the country affected. is it something where you look at our grid and say this should not be happening, we can do x and y to improve it or is it the sort of thing where sometimes something freakish happens and we have to live with long-term power outages. we have seen storm after storm come and mother nature is still going to be there. we re spending a tremendous amount of money on the grid. $80 billion overall on the electric system, $23 billion a year on the grid itself and installing smart grid equipment and a lot of other things, but when trees come down on power lines and poles and you ve got to you ve got water into electric systems, water is the enemy of electricity, you re still always going to have
