William Yaworsky is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). He is also a US Army veteran, his active duty unit being the 4th Psychological Operations Group (Airborne). His research interests include social organization and political violence in Latin America. His previous articles were published in venues such as Small Wars and Insurgencies, Mexican Studies/Estudios Mexicanos, and the Journal of Strategic Studies.
