An Auckland man accused of seriously injuring a pedestrian in a hit-and-run has appeared in court four days after the incident.
After scouring CCTV footage and appealing to the public for help, police arrested Clive Vakalahi.
The collision happened in the early hours of Sunday morning on main thoroughfare Sandringham Rd, between Skeates Ave and Farrelly Ave near the Wesley Community Centre.

A man has been arrested following a hit and run in Sandringham at the weekend.
An Auckland pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit on Sandringham Rd, between Skeates Ave and Farrelly Ave, near the Wesley Community Centre about 4am on Sunday.
A 47-year-old has been arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and is due to appear in the Auckland District Court today.

Police will examine CCTV footage of a hit and run incident which left an Auckland pedestrian with serious injuries.

As the pedestrian remains in a serious but stable condition in Auckland Hospital, police today said they were still hunting the driver of the vehicle.
They were now looking at CCTV footage of the wider area - central West Auckland - and asked anyone who had seen the vehicle involved or had any other information on the driver to get in touch.

A man is in serious by stable condition after being struck by a car in a hit-and-run early this morning on Sandringham Rd.
Detective Inspector Uraia Vakaruru said the pedestrian was struck shortly before 4am, and police were still on the hunt for the driver of the car.
The incident happened on the stretch between Skeates Ave and Farrelly Ave, close to the Wesley Community Centre. The vehicle left the scene immediately following the crash and has yet to be located, Vakaruru said.
