The Kingstree Beautification Commission hosted its 2023 Christmas Pallet Contest where community members were encouraged to join together to cut, paint and decorate their pallets in a Christmas theme.
For some Baltimore City students, being away from the classroom for the holidays means no access to breakfast or lunch. One school is helping to bridge the gap.
“I was so excited, I was like, ‘Oh my God, I’ve been shortlisted the last couple of years and finally got first place’,” George said upon hearing of the results. “That’s so cool, I called my parents immediately, called my grandparents. It’s very exciting.”
