Support for Ports and Portability to Green Hydrogen, Auto News, ET Auto

“The Centre will implement pilot projects in the shipping sector, for replacing fossil fuels and fossil fuel-based feedstock with Green Hydrogen and its derivatives under the mission,” an official statement said, while adding that these pilot projects will be implemented through the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways.

Centre offers Rs 115 crore support for retrofitting ships to run on Green Hydrogen

The new scheme by the Centre aims to support retrofitting existing ships with a Green Hydrogen propulsion system. It will also fund the creation of bunkering facilities in ports. The scheme falls under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, with a budget of Rs 115 crores till 2025-26. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways will implement pilot projects for replacing fossil fuels with Green Hydrogen in the shipping sector. The Shipping Corporation of India will be the Scheme Implementing Agency for retrofitting ships.
