It took a split second for one six-year-old to accidentally shoot another six-year-old. Lowndes County Sheriff Eddie Hawkins said the incident happened in a matter of moments after a 9mm handgun was left on a counter in reach of a child.
There are signs stating that no weapons are allowed in the community center but because its county property, on-duty deputies are still allowed to have their firearms on inside the building.
