Mize retires after more than 3 decades with FD

The City of Plainview announced the retirement of Fire Marshal Philip Mize this week.
After more than 31 years, Mize’s last day with the Plainview Fire Department was Thursday.
Mize has served the department in different capacities as a firefighter, equipment operator and as Fire Marshal, a position he’s held for the last 20 years.
Mize has taught investigation and code inspection classes. He also has Master Certifications for Fire Fighter, Arson Investigator, Code Inspections and Peace Officer and is an Advanced EMT.
During his time with the department, Mize brought the Shattered Dreams Program to Plainview High School.
