Representative image CHENNAI: Chennai airport customs officials seized 2.4kg of gold on Sunday and arrested a passenger on Monday for carrying foreign currencies. Seven passengers who arrived here from Dubai in an Air India Express flight (IX-1644) on Sunday were intercepted and searched. Six gold chains weighing 450 gram were recovered from the handbags of Askar Ali, 44, Sharim Foulath, 20, and Shaik Abdulla, 41, all from Chennai. During search of the baggage of Kader Hussain,47, and Mohamed Ibrahim,45, two gold chains concealed in back cover of their mobiles and two chains from their handbags were recovered. Two gold foils concealed in a checked-in carton box and two chains from a handbag were recovered from Natheem Khan,30, of Chennai. ....
