at the democracy summit, supporting those nation democracies in supporting them, supporting them economically. supporting them diplomatically and elsewhere, that sends a message in the world, we stand with you. strengthening democracies in their own country. i mean at the end of the day, we have to show democracy can deliver on behalf of its citizens. even some invited to the summit need to strengthen their own institution sfwls i was about to ask you that. the philippines and pakistan feel like head scratchers. yeah. well, they might not necessarily have been on my invitees. but part of i think what the president is trying to do is take those that have some almost of elected government and move them to the other elements that elections is not democracy in and of itself. it s institutions, it s rule of law. it s a respect for human rights. senator bob menendez, i present you coming ontario,
misled the queen through an improper motive. johnson controversially suspended parliament from early september until about october 14, which was widely viewed as a way of forcing his brexit plan through by giving lawmakers drastically less time to debate either his brexit plan or a no deal plan. the prime minister has been a major proponent of leadiving th eu october 31, deal or no deal. we are five weeks until the halloween brexit date. and british politics continues to enter uncharted water fwls it is interesting when boris johnson entered office, he was confident key get this deal done. a plan, and now part of the plan was to kind of park parliament on the side, has been ruled unconstitutional. which then means that the parliament is going to have to have a say in which way brexit goes. an obviously, as we ve seen over the last two years, parliament cannot agree on how brexit should play out. just take for a moment the extreme political turmoil the u.k. has been in over the last
apocalyptic and negative that the party is under the grip of president trump politically, emotionally that they won t be able to move on from this moment and i think the midterms if anything will be a time it is a juncture in the road where the party will have to choose, is this how we go forward or not? as they barrel towards the midterm, they don t feel in control of the party s future. speaking of, the president just tweeted about west virginia. he has weighed into the race in west virginia and he said that don blankenship cannot win the general election in your state and he s urging people in west virginia to vote for the two other gop candidate fwls that state and, look, this is a real high-stakes move by him. he endorsed roy moore and moore won, now he s trying to make sure the candidate who comes out of the primary a k beat joe manchin. it s a high-stakes move. i guess they ve learned a little lesson? blankenship is a sign of a me tast i can cancer that has taken
may not be as easy as senator graham is suggesting there. what some people suggest is that there could be a bipartisan fix to some of the marketplace reform. so making changes to make the marketplaces more stable. there haven t been a lot of concrete ideas of what that would look like and important to note democrats aren t willing to come to the table until this idea of repeal is completely gone. they want to see it fail and hear republicans particularly, mitch mcconnell say we re done with repeal before they open up the conversation about what they are going to do about fissixing working with republican sfwls ms. i assume the president cancelled his trip with france and will stay back and personally lobby members and work on the details of health care? look, i think for mitch mcconnell and republicans and senate, it s helpful to have the president leaving now and head out on this trip because each day that he s here it seems like it s more distractions coming
president trump is dealing with something other presidents haven t necessarily had to deal with. that is a remarkable amount of leaking within his own administration. i ve covered the previous two idents. you just didn t get readouts of things that the president of the united states was saying to his foreign leaders, not in real-time but at least ten, 12 days later. you had to wait weeks if not months, years for that to come out. so as the white house focused and you saw a little of this in previous press conferences on the so-called deep state and what they re up against. i think it has to be acknowledge that had there are folks in the white house that are leaking things are not advantageous to the president and that s a reality he ll have to deal with. i want to take a breath and think about this for a second. first, we had this reporting on apparently president trump referring to james comey as a nut job and telling russian fwls whom he met in the oval office that the firing of ja
