And both of those approaches are american if you think of it in historical terms but only one of those approaches is patriotic. And i think what we want in our candidates and the candidates that i think are most exciting are the ones that are choosing the more patriotic path, the ones that are using that combustion to fuel the future. And theres a way to do that and there are many, many candidates who are showing it. I went out to visit collin allred, a wonderful young candidate, first time candidate in a Congressional District in north of dallas. He grew up in the district in modest background, went to baylor. Hes a lawyer. Hes working with his neighbors and his community. Hes talking to everybody, people who agree with him and people who dont. His first question is not whether youre a democrat. His first question is about who you are, tell me what you need. Tell me what youre loo
specific incident and make sure something like this doesn t happen again, something is in place to prevent it. that is worth doing. there may still be children that need to be reunited. we know on an expanded lawsuit on reunification the government identified thousands of children separated before zero tolerance. as we look at reuniting those children and look at the children as you point out sleeping on concrete benches, those are children who have come unaccompanied and there s no room in health and human services to take them in so they re stuck at border stations. now congress wants answers and wants some investigations. you ve got new reporting maybe there s a plan, extended plan to house these migrant children. where and when? that s right. so my colleague courtney kube and i reported today ft. benning, georgia, is being looked at as a possible location to move unaccompanied children because, sfrafrpgly, health and human services, the agency
believe it. everybody there s a little bit of something for everybody. to me that s how the lebron piece sort of played out. he says something racist and despicable and really has to stop insulting the intelligence of african-americans, it s getting a little tiresome and really this narrative of him as a racist is only deepening. so this goes to the second point, jake, you and i were talking about this, this goes to so much of his strategy, which is about dividing us as a country, which is about along racial lines and along ethnic lines, attacks on muslim americans and african-americans, journalists and then exploiting that fear and division in ways that are helpful for him and frafrpgly help the russians. all i can say the democratic party has been doing that for decades. you even saw it. kamala harris defending the divisive politics. democratic party has been
about it. but when you re britain and don t like how you ve been maligned now what do we see? sean spicer may yet at the media. mcmaster didn t say prove we re wrong or use some other silly construct they use with us. isn t that the price of this? yeah. that s why words matter because now this is what people have been talking they say it s far fetched, you say it could lead to something. you just had one of your main allies, stop talking to us, had to put out a statement, stop talking about us. the bottom line is clear. the longer the administration plays the game with words where the danger is coming up where they are basically making accusations out there and putting things out there they can t defend, credibility goes down. credibility goes down. frafrpgly from the white house briefing podium it s all about credibility. when you have to make the case for something serious about national security, can the american people trust you?
