Plan for bungalows near West Winch petrol station almost criminal , says councillor Published: 17:00, 09 February 2021 A councillor has branded plans to build bungalows behind a petrol station on one of West Norfolk’s busiest roads as “almost criminal.” A decision on the proposal for land near the Esso garage next to the A10 in West Winch was deferred by borough councillors yesterday, amid concerns over legal advice. But West Norfolk Council planning committee member Tom Ryves slammed both the proposal and the advice of officials to approve it. Tom Ryves. Highways inspection at site of controversial speedcam in Setch Published: 06:00, 14 January 2021 Concerns continue to be expressed over the location of an A10 speed camera which is set to be reinstalled in a West Norfolk village. A Highways site inspection took place in Setch on Tuesday morning after a camera had been positioned at the A10 Garage Lane junction in December. This was removed days later after fears were expressed over visibility being obscured in the direction of Downham when pulling out of the junction. Officers say two people were seen driving towards the waters on the A1101 at Welney overnight. The route is currently closed and the water is estimated to be almost a metre deep. Flooding at Welney, Welney Wash Road and on the A1101. A couple of drivers were seen tonight to ignore signs and still drive towards the water measuring 94cm!

The Environment Agency says water levels have now peaked in the area of the warning for the Little Ouse River and River Thet, which includes Church Lane, Hockwold.
