State lawmakers are taking a short break as the legislative session hit the halfway point this week at the Indiana Statehouse. The leaders of both chambers were laudative of the efforts of lawmakers as they will now switch gears.
Republican leaders in the Indiana General Assembly say not to expect the same level of heated debate in the 2024 legislative session as in recent years. Instead, look for lawmakers to “tweak” and “fine-tune” existing laws.
The trip comes as Indiana plans to roll out a new program allowing eligible high school students to receive up to $5,000 in state funding for "career scholarship accounts" that can be used to "shop" for work-based learning experiences.
