IN HIS almost 77 years of living and working in Lowell, Dennis Canney has seen and done it all, but the hot weather that closed Lowell Public Schools for two days last week was a new experience for the former teacher and coach who now substitute teaches at the high school.
Two Town Hall employees are on the ballot against each other for the April 1 town elections in the race for Town Clerk after current Town Clerk Shirley Schult chose not to run for re-election. The Executive Confidential Secretary for the Select Board Dawn McDowell and Principal Clerk Donna McCoy are on the ballot for the April 1 election in the only contested race in Billerica besides the School Committee.
