Hobbit house renamed after threat of lawsuit from entertainment company
The owner of a British Columbia Airbnb property paying tribute to the fantasy race of hobbits from the Lord of the Rings has been forced to change the name of her property after being threatened with a lawsuit.

It’s now the Second Breakfast Hideaway. “And the h mountain hole is now a Second Breakfast Hideaway (I m still full from the first one),” the AirBNB owners wrote in a May 22 post. “Thank you to everyone who voted and to @arikanacres for the suggestion. I had a lot of fun with it, I hope you did too, and thanks to everyone for the coolest name suggestions and kind words and really totally overwhelming and unexpected support far and wide.”

BRIDESVILLE The owner of a B.C. Airbnb property paying tribute to the fantasy race of hobbits from the Lord of the Rings has been forced to change the name of her property after being threatened with a lawsuit.
Christina Le Comte bought the Hobbit Mountain Hole in 2020 as part of a larger purchase of a ranch in B.C.’s Thompson Okanagan area.
