The Department of Correctional Services says 797 healthcare professionals and 537 prisoners over the age of 60 have received a Covid-19 vaccine.

The vaccinations form part of government’s campaign to inoculate people over the age of 60.
The department recently suspended visits to all prisons across the country amid the third wave of infections.
In the latest report, the department recorded a total of 322 active cases.
A total of 260 fatalities have been recorded.
Spokesperson Sechaba Mphahlele says 77% of healthcare workers in the department have already been jabbed.
“Ninety officials as well as 537 inmates aged over 60, also received their first doses of the Pfizer vaccine.” ....
