A commitment towards better communication between the City of Cape Town and residents of Gordon’s Bay as well as clearer accountability were some of the key outcomes at a public meeting held at Krystal Beach Hotel on Monday night (4 December) to ddress recent water outages affecting the community over the past month.
A water-supply maintenance project by the City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Department that was planned for Thursday (2 November) proved a challenging exercise that resulted in fault after fault and left residents of Ward 100 in Gordon’s Bay without water for up to 72 hours.
The Gordon’s Bay Residents Association together with business and home owners have objected outright to a notice calling for public comment on the proposed access alterations to the MR108 in Gordon’s Bay.
There was a relatively good turnout of about 100 people at a public meeting on the Gordon’s Bay local spatial development framework (LSDF) initiative, and especially its intention and purposes, held at Strand Town Hall on Wednesday 19 July.
