was 5 years old. we know ryland ward was transported here last night after being shot five times. taken into emergency surgery. his family has told us this morning that he was in stable condition, but later told us he was headed back to surgery. so obviously, these family members just holding on to hope and clinging to their faith that these victims will make it through. we also know that the hospital is currently conducting a blood drive that is happening in the lobby of the hospital. it started at 8:00 a.m. this morning. they are asking anyone in the public that feels they could be the donor to show up and give blood to these victims. this will be going on throughout the day here at the hospital. and we are expected to have a press conference later this afternoon where we hear from a surgery who has been treating these children. and we expect more details and updates at that time. ali? reporter: we ll check back with you when you get that update for us, katie beck there in san anto
