we are almost a year into this pandemic and we are experiencing something strange. vertigo inducing, almost incomprehensible kind of inversion of where we were a year ago. a year ago we had political leaders denying there was a problem. journalists like myself warning an increasingly trill and urgent terms things were about to get very, very bad until people saw others getting sick firsthand. it was hard to believe how bad they could get as quickly as they did. particularly when you had messaging like this. while the risk to the american public remains low, as the president said yesterday, we re ready. we re ready for anything. we have contained this. we have contained this. i won t say air tight, but pretty close to air tight. if, you know, we have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better just by, you know, sitting around and even going to work, some of them go to work, but they get better. so there s a lot of talk about this coronavirus. yes.
