Klawer police used stun grenades outside the Western Cape town's magistrate's court on Tuesday to disperse a crowd baying for the blood of Daniel Smit, the man accused of killing 13-year-old Jerobejin van Wyk.
Bone-chilling details of occult activities contained in a psychological assessment from Vredendal psychologist CWA van Zyl of how Daniel Smith, 56, allegedly killed 13-year-old Jerobejin van Wyk, have spurred the court to order that the accused be sent for a 30-day psychiatric observation.
A psychologist said Daniel Smit’s belief in the occult likely played a role in the alleged murder of Jerobejin van Wyk but recommended that he go to a psychiatric hospital to be assessed for “the scientific reasons for his horrific act.”
Despite rumours of a letter penned by the suspected murderer of Jerobiojin van Wyk, the teen's family says the hardest part about saying goodbye is that they still have too many unanswered questions about his death.
