Shelter General Manager Amber Rowland said the seasonal deal is both an effort to find a loving home for these animals in need while also trying to keep the facilities afloat amid an overwhelming animal intake surge.
"It’s been harder for people to get pets spayed or neutered since the pandemic, and that means more pets are ending up at the shelter. We want to get rid of as many barriers as we can to help these wonderful animals find the loving homes they deserve!" said Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter General Manager Amber Rowland.
