Police say 22yearold elliot rhone was heavily armed and mentally disturbed when he launched what he called a a day of retribution, starting in his apartment, stabbing three men to death and went to a Sorority House where he shot and killed two women. Next he drove to a deli, where he killed a man, a Uc Santa Barbara student. He kept driving and shooting until he died during a gunbattle with sheriffs deputies. Three 9 mm. Semiautomatic handguns were recovered from the suspects vehicle. We have determined that all of these weapons were legally purchased from federally linessed firearms dealers and that they were all registered to the suspect.
