Authorities have publicly identified a 35-year-old man who was fatally struck by predawn traffic last weekend after venturing onto Interstate 5 on foot in Chula Vista.
Derek Grover II of San Diego was riding his 2021 Harley-Davidson southbound on Euclid Avenue shortly before 7:30 p.m. Saturday when the driver of a northbound 2000 GMC Sierra made a left turn directly in his path at Lyon Street, just north of state Route 94, according to police and the county Medical Examiner's Office.
