Riverside and San Bernardino counties which is inland southern california. About an east of los angeles and hour maybe an hour or two north of the border. It used to be mainly agricultural, but now it is a lot of urban and cities, mainly riverside and San Bernardino. He was first elected to congress in 1963 for the 29th district, which was actually serving parts of east los angeles. And he served until 1970 when he decided to run for senate in california. He lost the primary in that election. So he had to take a little bit of a break from congress. But then when i district opened in the inland empire that was near his childhood home, he decided to run for congress again in 1973. And he has been serving served , the inland empire continuously since then until he passed away in 1999. I think these kinds of collections are really important to kind of learn about history.
