On Tuesday, Feb. 2, Leonel Alvarez passed away after a short battle with COVID-19. The father of four was also the longtime owner of La Marginal the popular Puerto Rican restaurant off Nacogdoches Road.
Per a GoFundMe page set up to raise funds for expenses, the restaurant owner, 50, originally tested negative for COVID-19 in late December, but after several days with no improvement he re-tested on January 4. He was admitted to St. Lukes Baptist Hospital where eventually passed earlier this week. ....
