The Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM) in West Bengal has introduced an AI anchor, Samata, for election campaigns, receiving mixed reactions. While CPIM plans to utilize Samata for election propaganda, BJP s Tathagata Roy criticized the move, highlighting CPIM s historical opposition to computerization. CPIM has also announced 21 candidates for the 42 Lok Sabha seats in Bengal. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has scheduled the Lok Sabha polls in seven phases in the state from April 19 to June 1.
