India s government has no plans to stop investigations into some Sahara group companies after the death of its founder Subrata Roy. Corporate affairs ministry had given the probe responsibilities to the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO). Sahara s founder Roy passed away earlier this year.
Special judge VS Gaike had issued the bailable warrant of Rs 25,000 on September 6. However, on request from Roy’s advocates, Harshand Ponda and Ashok Sarogi, the court kept the warrant at abeyance for a week – till September 13, to allow them to challenge before a higher court.
The warrant was issued in a 2014 case by SEBI against Sahara Housing Investment Corporation Ltd. (SHICL), Sahara India Real Estate Corporation Ltd (SIRECL) and others in which Roy is one of the accused
