Like every football coach across the state, Midland High s Eric Methner had to wait for months to see if his team would even get to play this fall. And when they did get the green light, the Chemics made the most of the opportunity.
Led by a trio of talented third-year starters, Midland won its first eight games of the season, all in convincing fashion, climbed as high as No. 3 in the Division 2 state rankings, beat archrival Dow High decisively twice, and claimed another Saginaw Valley League North Division championship before the Chemics season finally ended with a 30-22 loss to a very big and very skilled Traverse City Central team in a district final. ....
