Beginning in April, the Sacred Heart Food Pantry has cooperated with the Middleboro Veterans Services Department to furnish food boxes for local veterans. The Greater Boston Food Bank provides the meal boxes.
The food pantry will be operating a drive-through distribution service once a month. It is held on the third Tuesday of the month from 11:00 am to noon. It will continue at least until the fall.
All veterans and their families from Middleboro, Lakeville, Rochester, and Carver are eligible to use this service. Veterans do not need to pre-register. Just drive in and pick up a box.
The Sacred Heart Food Pantry is located at 53 Oak Street in Middleboro. Go into the municipal parking lot behind the food pantry from the Pearl Street entrance.

The One Haverhill Fund has been a lifesaver for people suffering from a loss of income due to the coronavirus pandemic.
United Way Vice President Sarah Link told the Haverhill City Council on Tuesday the nonprofit program, developed by community leaders, the Greater Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, United Way of Massachusetts and others has been instrumental over the past year in helping individuals and other charitable organizations.
“We have this vibrant nonprofit network that we’ve built to really make sure that folks are having their needs met and are finding resources and also to support our food pantries,” she said.
