Email A New Bedford woman was arrested and then released three times in ten days for assaulting an officer, and drug possession and distribution, according to police.  New Bedford Police shared the saga Thursday on Facebook. On July 2, officers arrested Sabria Chytrus, 29, for breaking into a parked car, but during the arrest, Chytrus attempted to stab an officer with an illegal pocket knife. Police said she was subdued and disarmed. There was already an active warrant out for her arrest, and she was booked, taken to court, and released on personal recognizance the same morning. Just four hours later, Chytrus was seen engaged in a suspected drug transaction, police said. She was stopped and found to be in possession of cocaine and heroin, so she was arrested. Again, she was released on personal recognizance after her arraignment a few days later on July 5.

New Bedford Police say Sabria Chytrus, 29, was arrested for the second time in less than 10 hours after being observed at around 2 p.m. Friday, July 2 engaging in a suspected drug transaction. According to police, she was found in possession of suspected cocaine and heroin in the area of Belleville Avenue and Coffin Avenue, and is charged with possession of both Class A and Class B drugs, as well as conspiracy to violate drug laws.
