Nothing beats coming home to a pet greeting you at the door. A pet can bring love and comfort into a home, something every family deserves to have.
While there are several ways of gaining a family pet, I urge you to consider adoption. Shelters act as a haven for so many animals, but many are struggling to find their forever homes. So every Wednesday, I team up with a shelter on the SouthCoast and give the spotlight to one local animal that is ready for adoption. For this week’s Wet Nose Wednesday, allow me to introduce you to Oochie.

CARE Southcoast: Finding Homes for Animals [TOWNSQUARE SUNDAY]
CARE Southcoast is a no-kill animal shelter located in Acushnet, committed to finding good homes for the animals under their roof. That includes cats and dogs that have disabilities.
CARE Southcoast President Ruth Marshman says the shelter depends on many community partners to help care for its animals.
Marshman visited
Townsquare Sunday this week and talked about the challenges faced by the shelter s all-volunteer staff in caring for its animals, including those who require expensive medical care.
Asked how CARE Southcoast meets those challenges, Marshman says she s not too proud to beg. Her interview can be heard here:
