ukraine could bring, quote, unpredictable consequences and we re adding fuel to the conflict. joining me is heather connelly, president of a nonpartisan think tank. also deputy assistant secretary of state for europe and asian affairs where she led the effort to enlarge nato. thank you for joining me, heather. i want to kick off learning the that we had seen russia retreating, but because of the sinking of the flag ship, they seem to be reengaging in ukraine. what do you say to that? it wasn t retreating. it was regrouping. so we ve really seen the first phase of this conflict, which russia attempted a three-pronged invasion of ukraine. it failed. the russian military, we are seeing, a series of pretty catastrophic mistakes from a command and control arena,
