drivers. in leesburg very picturesque and had that snow globe effect for most of mid morning and early afternoon. we were on the roads in ashburn, chantilly and herndon as well. drivers were taking it easy and driving with caution. that was good news. vdot had 800 plows treating and salting the roads across northern virginia. did seem like they were all over the place. drivers we spoke with said that the roads seemed fine but they were hoping for a smooth rush hour. a little skittish maybe, yeah. i think it s because it s whiting out a little bit for people. other than, that the roads are fine. i think everybody s driving, you know sensibly. just starting to get wet mostly. but temperature keeps dropping. we ll have problems. that s a concern for some of the drivers if the temperature drops. this snow has been the hard, wet packed snow. good for making snowballs and i m sure that s what a lot of kids were doing out here. afternoon and evening activities canceled in ar
as you can see, the snow now has gone away. you can see here we had a crew out here earlier today from abc 7 that did get some of the video to people that are out and also the snow that was coming down. now, there were some people who did say that there were times when the roads weren t that good. here s what one woman had to say that we spoke with. a lot of the side roads are not really plowed yet. but i know they have to make that call a lot earlier in the day. yeah, i was kind of expecting them to be let out early. as we were driving here 270 north and on 495 north as we were coming into frederick, there were a lot of trucks that were out. trucks are mostly under overpasses, they were off to the side of the road and they weren t doing much work at all. probably because they re waiting for the temperatures to drop. as we heard just a few minutes ago, it is 34 degrees here in frederick. the roads are wet. but as that temperature starts to fall that s when the problems co

point turn. hit two men one that was injured critically before fleeing. eventually going through this fence and taking off. turning into an all night man hunt. here s a photo of the suspect, taken into custody early this morning charged with multiple crimes including hit and run and driving with a suspended license. you ll look at surveillance video right now showing her video striking two other cars before leaving this lot. police say 40-year-old noormustafa shaikh who owns this lot stood in front and she ran over him. a crowd gathered to try to stop her. at which point mendez stepped on the gas ran off the foot of one man and ran over shaika who was laying on the ground. witnesses could not believe what they have seen. just lost conscious. just lost human decency to do that to somebody else. police say that mendez had no affiliation with anyone at this lot. so no explanation as to why this happened. they are certainly looking into the possibility as to whether or not sh
