Red Force routed - Barbados Today

TAROUBA, Trinidad – Leaders Barbados Pride took a giant step towards the successful defence of their Regional First Class crown when they clobbered archrivals Trinidad and Tobago Red Force by an innings and 22 runs inside three days today. The hosts resumed the morning at the Brian Lara Stadium on 51 for three in their second innings and still requiring a further 110 runs to avoid an innings defeat. However, they failed to produce the resilience required, folding meekly for 139 in the first hour after lunch.Left-hander Yannic Cariah, who struck a hundred in the last round, top-scored with an unbeaten 35 while Keagan Simmons chipped in with 31. Red Force were undermined by off-spinner Roston Chase (3-26) and the seam duo of Justin Greaves (3-27) and Akeem Jordan (3-32), all of whom finished with three wickets each.Pride struck as early as the morning’s second over when Jason Mohammed drove loosely at Chase and was bowled between bat and pad, after adding four to his overnight six.

Batsmen shine - Barbados Today

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – Tail-ender Colin Archilbald struck an exhilarating unbeaten hundred to haul Leeward Islands Hurricanes out of trouble while Test vice-captain Jermaine Blackwood stroked his eighth first class century to lead Jamaica Scorpions’ domination, on the opening day of the fourth round of matches today. When Hurricanes slumped to 179 for nine after tea at Queen’s Park Oval, it appeared as if Windward Islands Volcanoes were taking an early stranglehold on the contest. But the left-handed Archibald arrived at number 10 to blast an unbeaten 104 off just 97 deliveries, to fire his side to 301 for nine at the close. At the Diego Martin Complex, the right-handed Blackwood finished unbeaten on 110, a knock that propelled Scorpions to 282 for six against Guyana Harpy Eagles.Scorpions too were in trouble at 99 for four just after lunch but Blackwood produced a composed knock spanning 251 deliveries and 5-¼ hours, and including 14 fours and a six, to steer his side to safety
