PASADENA, Calif. - The Tournament of Roses Association has sued the city of Pasadena in order to have a federal court determine ownership of the Rose Bowl and Rose Bowl Game trademarks.
The association contends it has full ownership of the name, while the city alleges it shares naming rights.

The city of Pasadena and the Tournament of Roses, which own the name “Rose Bowl, announced Wednesday they have officially agreed to allow the moniker to be used for the Alabama-Notre Dame matchup, which will be played in Arlington, Texas.
The College Football Playoff game was moved out of Pasadena after the state refused to allow any fans to attend the game due to surging COVID-19 cases. It will mark only the second time the Rose Bowl hasn t been played in Pasadena, the first occurring following the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, prompting a move of the game to Durham, North Carolina. ....
