KUANTAN: The state government will be sending food supplies to Pulau Tioman following the enforcement of the enhanced movement control order at the island beginning Tuesday (March 16).
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said state exco member Datuk Seri Mohd Johari Hussain, who is Tioman assemblyman, had been tasked to head the aid mission to ensure there were adequate food and necessities there. The Rompin District and Land Office, Social Welfare Department and Pahang Social Action Council, as well as several others, will also be actively involved in this mission. The priority and concern of the state government are on the health and welfare of the people on the island which consists of 860 heads of household or overall families, said Wan Rosdy.
