Mary Jo Reich passed away on February 28, 2023, at Rochester Methodist Hospital. She was born November 3, 1936, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota to George and Lillian (Shepp) Bailey.
Donna Mae Perry, age 90 of Rochester, died on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Rochester Methodist Hospital. She was born October 14, 1932, in Beloit, WI, to the late Norman and Violet (Stockwell) Larson. Donna graduated from Beloit Memorial High School and was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Beloit and then Zumbro Lutheran Church in Rochester and enjoyed singing in the adult choirs.
Supreme Court Justice Harry A. Blackmun, a former Mayo Clinic attorney and Rochester resident, wrote the controversial 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. A year after he wrote it, Blackmun described it as “one of the worst mistakes in the court’s history or one of its great decisions.”
