palka has been checking into how road crews are preparing. she s live in virginia beach. liz? we are in virginia beach where public works trucks are in their place. plenty of work is going on behind-the- scenes. a public works spokesman says crews have their assignments and they are watching to see what the weather does. in norfolk, crews are pretreating bridges and primary roads today. that will continue through the morning. the same is happening on the interstate. vdot crews started pretreating the southside and peninsula roadways this morning. they say they want to make sure the evening commute tomorrow is a safe one. and in northeast north carolina ncdot is getting ready to. crews started applying brine in camden and pasquotank county treating the highways ahead of the snow. based on the timing, it evening commute. v-dot is focusing on southside and peninsula watch conditions through the weekend. vdot says take your time if you have to be plenty of braking distance. ....
