It is the end of the road for a South Otago postie - but in a good way.
After 18 years, David Fenton (67) has parked his rural post truck. He delivered his last parcel before Easter, and the new owners, Jane and Richard Whitmore took over the run early in April.

HANOVER Stas Van Genderen’s phone wouldn’t stop buzzing with notifications on Friday morning. Lying in his bed, sore from skiing the day before, he finally picked up an incoming phone call from his mom.
“My phone is just blowing up, million text messages,” recalled Van Genderen, a senior on the Dartmouth College swimming and diving team. “So my mom says, ‘We got the team back!’ And I just say, ‘Is this kind of sick joke?’ I was shocked.”
So how did the GCT panto become one of the longest-running pantos in the country, setting the blueprint for others to follow?
Stevenage s place in panto folklore is guaranteed thanks to the venue s former arts manager, Bob Bustance.
It was down to the venue s foresight in signing TV celebs and revamping a tired format that helped revive panto, making it the Christmas family tradition we know and love today.
This was partly down to Bustance’s appointment of Kevin Wood to produce the pantos in Stevenage back in the 80s.
