WEST ISHPEMING Westwood held off a strong challenge from Negaunee to capture the boys prep WIN track meet in west Ishpeming Tuesday. The host Patriots finished with 80.5 points, followed by Negaunee, 71.5; and Ishpeming, 26. Brian Honkala was a double-event winner for the Patriots taking the shot put with a throw of 47-feet, 1-inch, and the discus (131.5). Other individual winners for Westwood included Bob Nelson in the 10-meter dash (12:02); Rich Conrad in the 800 dash (2:15:19); Clay Koski in the 1600 run (4:59:96); and Mike Gelmi in the long jump (17′-10″).
