Editorâs Note: Mr. Santiago passed away on Jan. 30. He was a prolific writer who often wrote letters to the editor for the Killeen Daily Herald Letters column. His family says he finished his last letter hours before he died, and that writing letters to the editor was a passion of his. His final letter was published Feb. 5. We salute him for his service to our nation, and we thank him for his longtime contributions to our Letters column. He will be missed.
