McElmeel steps down, Republican Club names Maj. Gen. ‘Scott’ Gray President

Longtime Republican Club President Joe McElmeel announced last week that he was stepping down from the position after several years building the Club’s membership and presence in the community.
The Republican Club named Air Force Maj. Gen. David ‘Scott’ Gray as the new President last Thursday at an organizational meeting.
Gray will start the post in January and McElmeel remains President through the end of the year and during the final holiday extravaganza slated for Dec. 11 at the Longboat Key Club. ....
